Inspired to Inspire

Hi, there!

It's been a while since my last post. Today, I'm going to share my experience.

I was born in a 'financially-okay-family'. Here I mean that my parents could support my primary needs such as eating three times a day, living in a comfortable house, and so on. But when I was in an elementary school, I always watched my friends who could buy any toys they wanted with envy. Some of them just needed to get a normal score around 70 in any quizes to make it happen. Some even just needed to whine in front of their parents. On the other hand, I had to study with my senior's old books or the photocopied one in case my mother didn't get them. Moreover, I always had to get above 90 in every exams just in order to avoid my mother from wipping me or just locking me in the toilet. I roughly didn't even get the appreciation I deserved from always being the top 3 in the whole class every year. But one thing that I can assure you is that my parents really loved me despite the way they treated me. For that reason, I've always been dreaming to be a billionaire so that I could fulfill anything I and most importantly, my family wants.

The story went on. Because of my excellence in academic, I got a full-scholarship to pursue my high school in the capital city. First of all, I would like to introduce you two types of student there in general. The first one was an academically-gifted-students from a 'poor' family who existed only upto 5 students in each generation. The other was a student coming from a rich family but didn't get any acceptance from other good schools. You could imagine how different we were. It's even worse there. I had to complete thorough details such as doing extremely well on every subjects, winning olympiad, and obeying stupid rules at school and dorm just in order to get the scholarship in the following year. The school was not that prestigious but the tuition was one-third of my father's income. That's why I was afraid when I was asked to sign the contract at that time. But my dream pumped my guts to do so. I finally ended up there. At that school, I found a friend whose family was really close to me. They were really rich even though their appearances didn't say so. I often was asked to spend some nights at their house and join their vacation. Also, it's not a few times for them to give me branded shirts, souvenirs, and etc. But the most important thing that I gained from them is the essence of life.

Looking back, I proudly say that my life has shaped me into a man who I always see in the mirror. From what I've learnt, it was not achieving a goal such as being a billionaire that will make us happy. It's the long process that you will always remember. It's your courage that will inspire others. It's the impact on other people that will leave you with an everlasting happiness.

Deadly Misconceptions

Hi, guys!

Have you ever found a bunch of hot girls in your high school making your ears burnt red by exaggeratedly praising their perfect-ten-guy who can do anything beyond human level? (Wow! That might be the longest sentence I've ever made.) Well, if you have faced such circumstance and feel powerless and desperately envy, I have a good news for you. Think about this:

As those 'perfect guys' grow up, they will inevitably come to a point where they have to choose one of their talents to be worked on and let the others 'disappear with the ashes'. In this condition, it will be very hard for them because they have to make the might-be-toughest decision in their life. A wrong decision will mess up their whole life. Different story happens to a computer maniac who 'doesn't have any other talent'.

Another example. I suppose all of you know who Cristiano Ronaldo is. I believe what first pop out in your mind is a figure of sturdy yet agile man who is unfairly born with the invincible talent in football. But how many of you know that he had released a single? Even though he is not as good as Josh Groban, at least, he is technically better than the currently most popular pop star who notably has the most followers on Twitter.

What does it mean? As they get mature, girls, or more generally society, don't respect you for being multitalent. Although it may happens in some cases, the most successful people in this world are known for being extremely excellent in one field. The field that they do love the most.

Let me give you another argument. In the Scarcity Law of Economics, it is roughly told that, there are only limited amount of energy, time, and other sources for human in order to achieve their unlimited number of goals. In other words, you can't achieve all you want. If you want to get something more, you have to get other things less.

Let me give you a more intellegently-arranged yet simple example. Let say there are men named Bill and Steve who both excell in fixing bike and computer. For simplicity, let say Bill can fix a bike in 10 minutes and a computer in 20 minutes. On the other hand, Steve can fix a bike in 20 minutes and a computer in 10 minutes. One day, I ask them to fix 6 bikes in an hour. Let's take a look at 2 different cases.

1. The first one is, let Bill and Steve work for 40 minutes of fixing bikes and 20 minutes of fixing computers. In the end, they'd have fixed 6 bikes and 3 computers.

2. The second one is, let Bill and Steve devote their 60 minutes for fixing bikes and computers      respectively. In the end, they'd have fixed 6 bikes and 6 computers. As you my see, this case is better. Meaning, specialization makes us more productive.

Implicitly, if you want to be an employer, your boss won't recruit you because of your multitalents. It's because he sees that you are excellent in one thing. Well, even though life is not that simple, at least, the aforementioned analogy can help you to get the sense of benefit in specialization.

So, don't be afraid from now on! Use your limited time and energy wisely. Listen to your heart, choose that one thing and do it! Don't you ever try to do something in order to please someone. Life is too short for that! Do because you care! But it doesn't mean that school is bad just because you are often forced to get good grades in the subject you don't like just in order to allow you to study more about the subject you like in the next level. Consider schooling as a way to train you to be able to take responsibility in the future because sometimes you have to do things that you hate. Don't worry about girls! There will be lots of them waiting for you if you do it right. Believe!

Thank you for accidentally reading this article by the way.

Welcome!

Hi, there!

I've got a little test for you. This might be very easy, but you better pay your fullest attention.
You don't need to have a pencil or such things. All you need is your brain which I suppose everyone have. Remember, answer in your mind as soon as possible.

Okay, let's start.
1. How do you call a building in which you can get goods or service?
    (What? Shop? Yes, it is)
2. What do you do when the green light is on?
(What? Stop? Go home! You are drunk ;-)

Okay. I've got your attention now. Just a little bit introduction.
I'm Andrew. I arrived on this earth exactly 13 years after the 1st American Idol winner did. I don't want to be arrogant but it's the truth.... Wha...  What... Whaaatt??? You still don't get it? Well, I thought I had got your attention. It seems like you haven't used your mind properly. What a pity!

Okay. I stop making fun of you now. Shortly, this is my first-ever-blog I write. Some posts ahead might be either funny, silly, heart-touching, enlighting, or in the worst case, boring.
So, WELCOME!!!
I really appreciate you all who have been willing to spend your time reading this.

(NB: If you ever have any intentions to google who the 1st American Idol is and find her birthday in order to find my birthday, then, I really got your attention ;-)
